Why is brown fused alumina suitable for use in various industries?
"Every drop counts."
--Product Brief
Brown Corundum For Water Treatment provides stable filtration performance with minimal degradation, while Brown Color Fused Aluminum Oxide for other-application grade supports anti-slip surfaces, high-strength composites, coating roughening, and functional fillers. Both share the technical foundation of α-Al₂O₃ density, hardness, and chemical stability, enabling long-term, consistent performance in demanding industrial environments.
"Clarity begins with understanding."
--Product Overview
Brown fused aluminum Oxide is formed by smelting bauxite in an electric arc furnace to create α-Al₂O₃ crystals. Its structural characteristics make it suitable as a high-density settling filter medium in water treatment systems, and as a high-strength aggregate or functional material in other industrial applications.
Both applications rely on the following three fundamental properties:
① High density (3.6–3.9 g/cm³)
It settles faster in filtration equipment and is not lost during backwashing.
It can improve the volumetric strength of wear-resistant and erosion-resistant layers in concrete or epoxy systems.
② High hardness (approximately 9 Mohs)
It does not easily pulverize as a filter medium, maintaining a service life of several years.
It can produce stable textures in surface anti-slip and roughening spraying processes.
③ Chemical inertness & low leaching components
It does not leach heavy metals in drinking water and industrial circulating water systems.
It does not cause chemical interference in resins, coatings, ceramics, and composite materials.
"Quality shows in the details."
--Product Advantages
✔ (I) Advantages of Brown Fused Aluminum Oxide for Water Treatment
- Non-pulverizing, Long Backwash Life.9 Mohs hardness ensures stable particle structure over many years of use, preventing capacity reduction due to water flow wear.
- Strong Retention Capacity.Multi-faceted particles provide more mechanical locking points, filtering more suspended solids and particulate matter.
- Low Leaching.Low content of impurities such as Fe₂O₃ and TiO₂, suitable for water quality-sensitive applications such as drinking water treatment, pool filtration, and RO pretreatment.
- Stable Specific Gravity Particles settle quickly during backwashing, preventing significant washout and reducing replenishment costs.
✔ (II) Advantages of Brown Corundum for Other Applications
- Extremely High Abrasion Resistance Significantly improves material durability when used in anti-slip pavements and concrete erosion layers.
- Customizable Particle Structure Sharp particles can be selected for coarsening, while round particles can be selected for filling.
- Compatible with multiple systems
- Adapts to epoxy, polyurethane, and cement coatings, its chemical inertness prevents destructive reactions.
- High coefficient of friction
- More slip-resistant than ordinary sand for anti-slip roads, parking ramps, ship decks, etc.
✔ (Ⅲ)Summary of cross-advantages
- Whether in water treatment or other applications, brown fused alumina's most outstanding value is:
- "Stable, durable, and maintains performance without degradation in high-abrasion environments."

"Proof is in the performance."
